This is awesome and an excellent observation. Cheetah's look great with those strange things. Their faces always reminded me of the women who wear them.

I once saw an article about this in National Geographic. The neck doesn't actually stretch, what happens is the shoulders and ribs get pushed downward at an angle.

The do it very gradually. The Bronze rings are about 1/3" in diameter, and they only add one or two a year.

Very cool pic, I really dig your art style.
Those rings are also used as a form of punishment,
If the woman was caught doing something wrong or thought
to be unfaithful, they would remove the rings and the
weight of her head would... um... well I think i talk to much O.o

But yea, I will definitely be watching your gallery. great stuff. ^.^

Technically, it shoves their shoulders down to achieve the illusion of a long neck. Still, I'm loving your use of hatching.
